Calls for papers

The ASRU Workshop is a flagship event of the IEEE Speech and Language Processing Technical Committee. The workshop is held every two years and has a tradition of bringing together researchers from academia and industry in an intimate and collegial setting to discuss problems of common interest in automatic speech recognition and understanding. Topics of interest include, but not limited to, the following.

  • Automatic speech recognition
  • ASR in adverse environments
  • New applications of ASR
  • Speech-to-speech translation
  • Spoken document retrieval
  • Speaker/Language recognition
  • Speech emotion recognition
  • Methods and models leveraging multi-lingual resources
  • Spoken language understanding
  • Spoken dialog systems
  • Text-to-speech system

We are still optimistic and planning to have the workshop on-site in Cartagena. In the event that travel is not possible by the end of 2021, we will evaluate options for remote presentations through a hybrid or virtual ASRU. Authors will be notified on any updates, so please follow the website.

The workshop will feature invited talks/keynotes, regular papers and special sessions. If the conference is on-site, a full social program will provide ample opportunities for discussion, including welcome reception, banquet, lunches, etc. In case of a virtual event equivalent virtual opportunities for social interaction and dicussion will be offered. Unfortunately this would mean byod (bring your own drink ūüôā ). You may download ASRU 2021 logo from here.

The paper submission portal will be available by 7 May 2021. Paper submission kit will be available here soon.

The authors will have the opportunity to address the comments from the reviewers. The authors will have one week to prepare a rebuttal to clarify the main confusions and questions raised by the reviewers. The Technical Program Chairs will consider this document to make the final decision on the papers.
